A man from Colorado is facing multiple felonies, including assault with a deadly weapon, after attempting to run over a woman in Canyon Country, officials said.
On Tuesday, around 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 16400 block of Delone Street in Canyon Country after an individual allegedly threatened to run over a woman in her 20’s if she did not get back into the car that they were reportedly traveling in, according to officials.
“When the victim didn’t comply, the suspect allegedly started driving the car towards her,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies arrested the man, 26-year-old Albert Ortiz of Westminister, CO, on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats, according to Miller.
Ortiz was transported to and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail, where his bail was set at $50,000, according to arrest records.
