Deputies arrested a Stevenson Ranch robbery suspect Tuesday after he allegedly tried stealing items from Walmart.
Just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies received reports of a Stevenson Ranch robbery at the Walmart on the 25000 block of The Old Road, according to Sheriff’s officials.
“He allegedly went into Walmart and tried to take items without paying for them,” said Shirley Miller, spokesperson with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
As the suspect was approached by security personnel, he allegedly became physically combative, according to Miller.
The suspect, 29-year-old Newhall resident Owen Bean, was arrested on felony robbery charges, Miller added.
Bean was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail, where his bail was set at $133,250, according to arrest records.
