Man Arrested After Threatening, Pointing Firearm At Ex-Girlfriend In Santa Clarita

A Santa Clarita resident was arrested Thursday, on multiple felony charges after he allegedly threatened and pointed a gun at his ex-girlfriend.

Around 1:45 p.m. Thursday, the suspect drove to his ex-girlfriend’s residence on Robin Avenue in  Saugus and pointed a handgun at her face, after making verbal threats to her over the telephone, said Deputy Candice Gonzales, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The victim was in sustained fear for her life,” Gonzales said.

Through deputies’ investigations, they learned that he lived in Newhall.

Deputies searched the area and located the suspect, according to officials.

“The suspect was ultimately arrested at a Newhall residence and a search warrant recovered a firearm matching the victim’s description,” Gonzales said.

Ashley Dorsey, 30, from Newhall, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon with a firearm and criminal threats, both felonies, Gonzales said.

Dorsey was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $50,000, according to Gonzales.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
