Man Arrested In Connection With Valencia Chase Bank Robbery

A man from San Bernardino was arrested Wednesday night for his allegedly robbing the Valencia Chase Bank two days prior.

Forrest Colby Rowe, 49, was arrested Wednesday by deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Crimes Bureau (MCB), according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The bank robbery in Valencia was originally reported at about 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6 on the 24000 block of Valencia Boulevard, according to Sgt. Gooseberry with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“(The suspect) handed a teller a note stating he had a gun and to give him money,” Miller wrote in an official post Friday. “The suspect then took the money and fled.”

The suspect, initially described as a male in his 50’s wearing a hooded jacket and glasses, fled with $2,100 on foot westbound near Valencia Boulevard, according to deputies on scene.

Two days later, on Wed., Jan. 8, MCB detectives found the suspect, identified to be Rowe, hiding out in a motel San Bernardino, the city in which he lived.

Rowe, a parolee, was found to be connected to four other bank robberies, in addition to Valencia, that were committed in the last two weeks in Yorba Linda, Tujunga, Fallbrook and Diamond Bar,” Miller wrote.

Between Dec. 23 and Monday’s robbery, Rowe allegedly stole nearly $19,000 from five different Chase banks, according to Miller.

Rowe is currently being housed at Walnut Sheriff’s Station where he is being held on $2 million bail, with a FBI hold, according to officials.

  1. I have seen this guy standing outside of California Credit union on Magic Mountain Parkway twice recently. I called the sheriffs department because he was standing beside the pillar looking into the bank.

  2. White males are typical bank robbers.
