Man Arrested While Trying To Collect Lost Wallet With Fake IDs From Sheriff Station

A Lancaster man was arrested when he came to collect his lost wallet – and the two fake identification cards inside – from the Santa Clarita Valley Station earlier this month.

Near the beginning of the month, a good Samaritan turned in a lost wallet to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the SCV Station.
“As deputies inspected the wallet to identify the owner, they discovered the wallet contained two fraudulent ID cards,” Arriaga said.
Deputies coordinated with Lancaster Sheriff’s Station personnel to have the man contacted at his residence in Lancaster, according to Arriaga.

The man was asked to pick up his wallet at the SCV Sheriff’s Station, where deputies welcomed him with open arms and an open jail cell.

“When the male arrived, our deputies were there to greet him with a pair of handcuffs,” Arriaga said.
On Sunday, March 5, Justin Starler, 19, from Lancaster, was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for forgery of public/corporate seal and later released on bond, according to Arriaga.
“The IDs may have been fake, but that doesn’t mean it can’t lead to a real arrest,” Arriaga said.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
