Man Flicking Ashes From Lit Cigarette In Canyon Country Leads To Multi-Felony Arrest

A man found flicking ashes from a lit cigarette led to his arrest for several felony charges.

On Friday, Deputies patrolling the 28400 block of Sand Canyon Road in Canyon Country spotted a man smoking a lit cigarette and flicking the ashes into the road, said Deputy Robert Jensen, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and discovered the suspect was on felony probation out of Ventura County and his vehicle registration was expired since 2017,” Jensen said.

When deputies conducted a probation compliance check they recovered credit cards and pieces of mail not belonging to any of the individuals in the car, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Nicholas Wombacher, 26, from Carlsbad was arrested for being in possession of access cards with the intent to defraud, receiving known stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance, and being in possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Jensen.

The vehicle was also towed.

Wombacher was arrested and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and released to appear in court at a later date.

  1. What an (expletive omitted). Thanks LASD.

  2. Great practice work. Now to have a DA who’ll properly prosecute and pursue jail/prison sentences.

  3. Losers like this deserve to be locked up for the next 20 to 30 years at a minimum. Perhaps when he’s 46 or 56 he will understand how to fit into a civil society.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
