Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station assisted detectives in seizing multiple firearms and arresting several individuals over a two-day operation.
A sweep was conducted on Feb. 11 and Feb. 13 by agents from the Department of Justice Firearms Bureau, along with detectives from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau and Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies.
The two-day operation resulted in three arrests and the seizure of one assault weapon, two rifles, one shotgun and one handgun.
“Five firearms and ammunition were seized during a two-day operation in Santa Clarita Valley,” reads a Facebook post from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “The firearms and ammunition were seized from individuals prohibited by law from owning firearms.”

Individuals convicted of felonies or certain misdemeanors, and those subject to protective orders or judged by the courts to be severely mentally ill are among those who are not permitted to own a firearm, according to Sheriff’s officials.
The two-day operation was conducted in the Santa Clarita Valley, where officials checked on 25 different locations.
