The bank robbery was called in at about 5 p.m. Tuesday after the suspect handed a bank teller a note demanding money, said Sheriff’s officials.
“If you ever wanted to be in a bank robbery, this was one of the most boring ones,” said Mike Bjorkman, who was inside the Chase location. “We would have never known it was happening if they didn’t lock us in the bank.”
Bank employees locked the branch down until Sheriff’s deputies arrived to interview the patrons and take statements, said Bjorkman
Multiple helicopters were dispatched to locate the suspect, described as a white male in his 50’s or 60’s by eyewitnesses at the scene.
Deputies detained one person matching the description near the neighboring 7-11, but the bank teller did not identify them as the suspect.
As of 6 p.m. deputies have not located the suspected bank robber, the perpetrator is still at large, according to officials.
This bank robbery comes on the heels of another robbery at Wells Fargo last week, down the street on Lyons Avenue.
