A Newhall containment was set up Thursday evening in order to detain an individual with a possible felony warrant for their arrest, officials said.
Just before 5 p.m., deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station ordered a containment to be set up in the area near Railroad Avenue and 15th Street.
“It’s preliminary information,” said Sgt. Jepson, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “There is a containment for a suspect with a felony warrant.”
The suspect is possibly on parole, according to Sheriff’s officials.
One person had been detained in relation to the investigation, according to officials on scene.
A helicopter from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Aero Bureau was seen aiding in the search from above.
As of 5:30 p.m., the containment is still set up, with residents advised to avoid the area, if possible.
