Deputies arrested a man in Newhall after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle on Sunday. 

On Sunday at around 5 p.m., a parking enforcement officer noticed a Hispanic man on the 24900 block of Walnut Street in Newhall exiting a confirmed stolen vehicle, a green Honda Civic, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. 

“Deputies arrived and detained a male matching the suspect description, later positively identified as the suspect,” said Arriaga. 

Carlos Zepeda, 26, from Newhall was arrested for felony vehicle theft. 

Zepeda was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody as of Monday, added Arriaga.
