Newhall Vandalism Suspect In Custody After Shattering Liquor Store Window

A Newhall vandalism suspect was taken into custody Tuesday after he allegedly shattered the window of a liquor store.

Around 12:40 p.m. deputies started receiving reports of a vandalism call at Bonanza Liquor store on the corner of Main Street and Market Street, said Lt. Jim Royal, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The suspect was seen using a magazine rack to shatter the windows of the liquor store, according to a witness.

Deputies located the suspect on Market Street near Railroad Avenue where he was taken into custody, according to officials.

“They have one in custody,” Royal said.

The suspect suffered minor injuries due to the broken glass, according to fire officials.

  1. Thank you Democrats for defunding our sheriff dept. less resources and more crime. Brilliant plan. Can’t wait to see our beautiful Main Street destroyed. Heartbreaking.

  2. New DA Gascon, recommended by Democrats, is starting a “zero bail” for such non serious crimes.
The police will “catch and release” so this will no longer be an action that will put the criminal in jail.

  3. “Was done at the Sheriff’s recommendation “ Please show us where Sheriff Villanueva asked to have his budget cut. What an idiotic comment.

  4. If people want Law Enforcement to have less authority “defund” I have some advise for you . Quit breaking the law a$$hole !!!!!! . It is up to us to comply with our current laws. No crimes ,less law enforcement needed. Supply and Demand

  5. Yep, more crime from the crews of Railroad/Walnut/Race/15th/Arch St. area, across from the beautiful multi million dollar train station and Old Town “improvements”! No matter how hard the well invane intentions to improve and Give constant handouts, the creatures don’t change/improve! Now Gascon and his demonic ilk will make it easier to continue destruction!

  6. demons and demonic behavior?? maybe we should fund some exorcisms or pray for it to go away. Instead of playing Dungeons and Dragons Ricardo you may want read a little about mental illness and drug addiction.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
