A high speed pursuit that reached speeds of over 100 mph ended in Valencia Friday night after the suspect bailed and fled on foot.
The pursuit reportedly began in the San Fernando area, as officers with the California Highway Patrol followed the driver of a Kia Rio suspected to be stolen, according to officials.
Officers followed the driver through the San Fernando Valley, eventually driving west on the 210 Freeway, then through the I-5 North, where the suspect reached speeds of over 100 mph, according to officials on scene.
The suspect got off of the freeway at the Valencia Boulevard exit before turning onto Tourney Road. It was there that the suspect bailed out of the Kia and fled from CHP officers on foot, according to officials.
CHP officers detained one individual suspected of stealing the car and leading officials on the high speed pursuit. The identity of that individual was not made available as of Saturday afternoon.
