One Hospitalized After Pursuit Suspect Crashes Into Car In Canyon Country

At least one person was taken to a nearby hospital early Thursday morning after a pursuit suspect crashed into another car in Canyon Country.

Just before 12:10 a.m. Thursday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a traffic collision at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road.

Ten minutes later, they received a medical emergency call in the same area.

“They are related to some kind of pursuit that Sheriff’s were engaged in,” said Supervisor Stafford with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

At least one person was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition as a result of the crash, according to officials on scene.

The crash reportedly occurred after an individual led deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on a brief pursuit along Soledad Canyon Rd.

After the crash, the suspect, who reportedly only suffered “minor injuries,” fled on foot into the wash behind the nearby Vons. That individual was later found and taken into custody at gunpoint, according to officials on scene.

The intersection of Soledad Canyon Rd. and Sand Canyon Rd. was temporarily shut down as officials worked to clear the scene.

The exact cause for the initial pursuit was not immediately available as of Thursday morning.

  1. The suspect was later… FOUND!!!!! EXCELLENT job, SCV Sheriff Department. Good job!!!! Let’s just hope the innocent driver wasn’t hurt that bad. Good job, all of you wonderful officers. Thank you for your outstanding services.

  2. My husband was the driver that was hit by the suspect. He’s ok, Thank God! I want to send a shout out to our sheriff’s deputies that was on scene. They were professional and personable throughout our interactions. They’re taking a lot of heat right now so it’s important that we recognize those who ARE serving us as they were sworn to do.

    • I’m soooo glad your husband is doing ok. I hope you & your family stay safe from a lot that is going on in SCV… which is a lot for some crazy reason. Stay safe, EVERYONE!!!!!

  3. The bad guy that almost killed other people—what did he look like, name, where from?!
