One In Custody After Reportedly Crashing Into Vehicles, Fleeing In Saugus Neighborhood

One person is in custody after allegedly crashing into several vehicles in a Saugus neighborhood Saturday before attempting to flee on foot, only to be stopped by a pursuing neighbor.

Just before 2:40 p.m. Saturday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a multi-vehicle collision on the 20400 block of Jay Carroll Drive in Saugus, according to officials.

Residents reported seeing the suspect’s dark grey Mazda speed down the street, crashing into a silver Ram 2500 and a white Ram truck. Multiple residents told KHTS reporters on scene that they had heard the impacts from inside their homes.

The suspect then reportedly fled westbound on foot on Plum Canyon Road, but was stopped by a resident who had chased the suspect down, according to Sheriff’s officials on scene.

While moderate damage was inflicted on several of the vehicles involved, no major injuries were reported as a result of the incident, according to officials.
