One Suspect Still At Large After Attempted Carjacking In Castaic

One suspect has been apprehended while the other is still outstanding after an attempted carjacking in Castaic Sunday.

On Sunday, at approximately 10:45 p.m. deputies responded to a call at Commerce Center Drive and Hancock Parkway in Castaic regarding an attempted carjacking containing two male suspects, said deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson with The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station

“It was reported two male adults approached the victims while they were parked on the street, during which one male entered the driver’s side door, sat down and proceeded to point a handgun at the victim seated in the passenger’s seat while demanding the vehicle,” Arriaga said.

The victims then began yelling at the suspects which caused both suspects to flee on foot towards a commercial building and out of view, Arriaga said.

“Deputies arrived on scene and immediately set up containment,” Arriaga added.

When deputies made their approach on  one of the suspects, he fled leading to a foot pursuit, Arriaga said.

“As deputies apprehended the male, a brief struggle ensued,” Arriaga said.

Shortly after with the help of assisting units, deputies were able to detain the suspect.

A revolver was located and recovered at the scene, said Arriaga.

“A second suspect still remains outstanding at this time,” Arriaga added.

  1. Put the perp who was apprehended in jail until he tells law enforcement who his accomplice is and then keep them both in jail for a significant amount of time in an attempt to drill into these numskulls that this is not how civil society operates.

  2. What did the other possible murderous suspect look like, wearing, etc. Maybe somebody saw something, but if we’re NOT told the Truth/Facts, we can’t help!
