Pair Arrested After Living In Vacant Valencia Home, Causing Thousands In Damages

Two Canyon Country suspects were arrested after they allegedly caused several thousands of dollars in damage to a vacant home they had occupied.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to the 27600 block of Ensemble Place in Valencia regarding a trespassing call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspects had been residing in a vacant home,” Arriaga said. “While residing in the home, the suspects tampered with the garage door motor, Ring doorbell camera and caused damage to other property within the home all amounting to approximately over $7,000 in damages.”

Eric Horn, 27, and Hellen Horn, 55, both from Canyon Country, were arrested at the residence for felony vandalism and loitering, Arriaga added.

They were booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remain in custody as of Thursday.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
