The pedestrian who was killed as a result of an Acton hit-and-run collision on Saturday has been identified, and the family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
Lilia Garcia, 41, has been identified as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred in Acton early Saturday morning, according to officials from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
At about 2 a.m. Saturday, CHP officers responded to a traffic collision on Crown Valley Road just south of Soledad Canyon Road in Acton, according to a social media post from the CHP – Antelope Valley Office.
“Preliminary information indicates, an adult female was walking southbound on the west dirt shoulder of Crown Valley, just south of Soledad Canyon, when she was struck by a possible white vehicle,” the post reads.
As a result of this collision, Garcia sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP officials.
Following the traffic collision, the suspect who allegedly struck the woman fled the scene southbound on Crown Valley Road, CHP investigators said.
“A small white sedan with a large spoiler on the rear of the vehicle was seen leaving the scene of the traffic collision,” the post said.

Tragically, Garcia’s death comes less than a month after the sudden loss of her sister in August.
On the morning of Tuesday, August 20, 39-year-old Claudia Garcia, of Northridge, was pronounced dead at the scene after she was struck by a Metrolink train in the Sylmar area, according to Coroner’s officials.
Described as a beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Lilia Garcia is survived by her three children, ages 18, 14 and 7.
“We have so many unanswered questions at this time but we pray that justice will be served and closure can be brought into the hearts of all who love Lily very much,” reads the GoFundMe set up in Garcia’s honor.
The GoFundMe has been set up to help cover funeral expenses, with any remaining funds going towards her children.
Donations can be made here.
The investigation into Garcia’s death is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Antelope Valley California Highway Patrol Office at (661) 948-8541 or contact CHP dispatch 24/7 at (323) 259-3200.
