A Canyon Country suspect on probation for burglary was arrested Monday on a felony weapon charge after he was found carrying a knife, officials said.
On Monday around 3:50 a.m, deputies on patrol made contact with an individual near Soledad and Sand Canyon Roads in Canyon Country, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
After making contact with the individual, deputies learned he was on probation for burglary, according to Sheriff’s officials.
“The suspect had a knife on his person, which was a violation of the terms of his probation,” Miller said.
Juan Diaz, 22, from Canyon Country, was arrested on a felony charge of carrying concealed dirk or dagger, Miller said.
Diaz was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail and was given no bail, according to arrest records.
