Robbery Suspect Escapes From Acton Fire Camp, Prompting Search

A robbery suspect has escaped from Acton Conservation Camp Monday, prompting a search from local law enforcement, officials said.

During an inmate count at around 7 a.m., staff discovered inmate Christian Ledon, 19, reportedly did not check in with staff at the dining hall, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

A search of the camp buildings and grounds was immediately conducted.

Ledon was last seen at 5:05 a.m. during a count, according to CDCR officials.

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s Office of Correctional Safety, CAL FIRE, the California Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies have been notified and are assisting in the search, according to officials:

Ledon is a minimum-security inmate described as a Hispanic male, 5’11”, weighing 154 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

He was committed to the CDCR on May 30, 2019, from San Diego County to serve a four-year sentence for second-degree robbery.

He was scheduled to be released in July 2021.

Anyone who sees Ledon is encouraged to call 9-1-1 or law enforcement authorities immediately.

Anyone with information about or knowledge of the location of Ledon is encouraged to call the Acton Conservation Camp commander at (661) 268-0113.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
