After making contact with the man, deputies proceeded to administer a Blood-Alcohol Content (B.A.C.) test. Preliminary results came back at .14 percent, which is nearly twice the legal limit, according to officials.
The bicyclist was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) as a result of the incident, according to Miller.
This incident was one of six instances of DUI reported between May 1 and May 3, which accounted for nearly 20 percent of all reported arrests and citations over the weekend, according to arrest logs.

I understand the importance of public safety for our roadways but I have always disagreed with having your license possibly revoked and your insurance going up for being over the limit on a bike or skateboard. Since neither requiring a test and insurance to obtain a bike or skateboard it shouldn’t be punished as a car or motorcycle. I can see a ticket for drunk in public with a heavy fine in hopes of teaching the person a lesson but possibly losing your drivers license and even in some cases losing your job seems a bit extreme for a non-motor vehicle incident.
I agree way to harsh! A ticket and maybe public service. The harshness is probably fueled by the delicate, spandex leotard wearing, over-serious bikey boy gang!
I like the public service idea. The world needs ditch diggers , graffiti removal , grocery shopping cart retrieval from neighborhoods.
