A Santa Clarita stolen vehicle suspect was detained at gunpoint Monday afternoon, officials said.
Just before 1:30 p.m Monday, a deputy found a suspected stolen vehicle near Lowe’s Home Improvement on the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road near Newhall Ranch Road, according to Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The deputy then requested backup to the location in order to take the suspect into custody, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Multiple units from the SCV Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene to assist the first deputy on scene.
Juan Hernandez, 44, or Reseda, was arrested on charges of grand theft auto, according to Arriaga.
The suspect was also found to be in possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a 12-inch knife, Arriaga said.
Hernandez was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $30,000 bail, according to arrest records.

Excellent. Hopefully, he informs his “crew” that this activity isn’t tolerated in SCV. Sadly, it seems perfectly fine in the SFV.
