Three suspects were arrested Wednesday during an off-road Santa Clarita theft suppression operation throughout Santa Clarita, officials said.
On Wednesday, Crime Prevention Unit deputies geared up and utilized two quads and two side-by-sides to navigate terrain in Santa Clarita not accessible by patrol vehicles to scour hills and remote locations in search of stolen property, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in a Facebook post.
“With theft crimes on the rise, it’s important to cover all our bases,” said Sgt. Dan Dantice with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The efforts of the team paid off, according to Miller.
“By the end of the operation on Wednesday afternoon, three adult male suspects were arrested,” Miller said.
Eric Ramsey, 34, a transient, was arrested for possession of stolen property and trespassing as well as for warrants out for his arrest for theft and identity theft.
Andy Perez, 33, a transient was arrested for possession of stolen property and trespassing, and Jesus Cornejo, 26, also a transient, was arrested for trespassing.
Ramsey and Perez were arrested with felony charges for possession of stolen property, including a high-priced bicycle, hand tools, a power tool, off-road equipment and an electric guitar amplifier, Miller said.
This incident remains under active investigation by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives, can to officials.
All three suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail.
