Santa Clarita Weekend Arrests Slightly Up From Last Week

Santa Clarita weekend arrests saw two more people taken into custody than last week, with a majority of people detained being for drug and alcohol-related incidents.

Between Friday and Sunday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office made a total of 17 arrests, according to arrest logs.

This is two more arrests from the previous weekend, according to logs.

A majority of arrests that were made included eight individuals being arrested for driving under the influence, (DUI) three were arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance.

Other arrests were for domestic violence charges, reckless driving, ID theft and vandalism arrests.

Eight of the individuals arrested were from Santa Clarita, and nine individuals were from other cities, according to arrest logs.
