A Saugus woman was arrested Tuesday evening on forgery and narcotics offenses after she was allegedly found pulling a skateboarder behind her car, officials said.
While J-Team deputies were working a crime suppression operation Tuesday night looking for illegal narcotics activity, they just happened to spot a car towing a skateboarder on a Saugus road, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Deputies conducted a traffic stop to cite and/or warn the driver,” Miller said.
The female driver was found to be in possession of heroin and narcotics paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to Miller.
“She was additionally found to be in possession of a ‘fake’ driver’s license with a forged California seal,” Miller said.
Deputies arrested Deanna Newman, 23, from Saugus, on felony forgery and misdemeanor narcotics charges, according to Miller.
In addition to this arrest, J-Team deputies also made three other narcotics-related arrests during the crime suppression operation.
Newman was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with bail set at $0, according to arrest records.
