SCV Sheriff’s Detectives Investigating Suspicious Vehicle Lingering Around Saugus Parks, Schools

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s detectives are investigating reports that have residents on high alert regarding a suspicious vehicle caught lingering around parks and schools in the Saugus area.

On Thursday, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station announced that they were “aware” of the community concerns surrounding a man seen driving a White Lexus and lingering near Santa Clarita Park and schools in Saugus.

Detectives with the SCV Sheriff’s Station have identified and contacted the individual, and continue to investigate any additional reports made pertaining to this individual,” said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, Public Information Officer for the SCV Station.

The man has been a subject of concern among area parents for several months, with social media posts in local community groups discussing his behavior and noting they had reported him to the SCV Sheriff going back to at least early March.

In April, the Sulphur Springs Union School District, which serves families in the Canyon Country area sent out an email to parents, cautioning them about “a white Lexus SUV driving around, with a male adult inside, telling students he is there to pick them up,” according to Superintendent Dr. Catharine Kawaguchi.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Nisenoff with the SCV Sheriff’s Station at 661-287-5601.
