UPDATE 10:15 p.m. — The containment has lifted, residents are able to return home. The neighborhood has been checked, cleared and deemed safe. Deputies were unable to locate suspects, however, the investigation is ongoing, according to Sheriff’s officials.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the report of a residential burglary at about 5:30 p.m. Friday on May Way in Canyon Country, ending in a manhunt for two suspects, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.

“We have an active containment going on for two possible burglary suspects,” said Miller. “We are asking the public to avoid the area.”

The suspects have been described as a white male and a black male, according to Sheriff’s officials.

The containment is near La Mesa Jr. High School on May Way and Cresthaven Court, according to Miller.

The deputies on the ground are being assisted by Aero Bureau helicopters and K-9 units, according to LASD officials.

“If you should see suspects in yards, do not approach and call 9-1-1,” Miller said.
