Shooting Threat At Arroyo Seco Deemed A Rumor

A shooting threat at Arroyo Seco Junior High School Thursday has been determined to be a rumor, officials said.

A rumor circulated Thursday about a school shooting at Arroyo Seco, according to officials with the William S Hart Union High School District.

“We immediately involved law enforcement and have identified the source of the rumor,” Hart District officials said. Officials determined that there was no credible threat to the campus or any other school.

“A student had a dream of a school shooting at another unrelated school, but talk amongst students turned it into this specific school,” said Deputy Natalie Arriaga with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “No threat. No arrests.”

Out of an abundance of caution, a School Resource Deputy is on campus.

“Please know that your children’s safety is our number one concern. If your child hears something concerning, please encourage them to tell,” District officials said.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
