Stolen DVDs and video games were recovered after a Valencia traffic stop for having expired registration Sunday.
On Sunday, a deputy conducted a Valencia traffic stop near Newhall Ranch Road and McBean Parkway after he observed a vehicle with expired registration, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“During a traffic stop, (the deputy) learned the male driver was driving on an expired driver’s license,” Arriaga said.
As the deputy was preparing to tow the vehicle, he discovered a “large amount” of DVD movies and video games still in their original packaging with retail tags attached, believed to be stolen, according to Arriaga.
Antonio Rodriguez, 25, and Cynthia Kelley, 19, both from Stockton, were ultimately arrested for felony burglary for being in possession, Arriaga added.
They were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and subsequently released to appear in court at a later date.
