Suspect Arrested After Reported Saugus Burglary

A Saugus burglary suspect was arrested Wednesday and charged with multiple felonies including criminal threats, officials said.

On Wednesday around 11 a.m., deputies responded to the 27900 block of Featherstar Avenue in Saugus for a burglary in progress call, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The victim, male 30s was home when he said he heard the suspect enter his residence,” Miller said.

Upon making contact, the homeowner confronted the alleged burglar and the suspect verbally threatened the victim, according to Miller.

The suspect was an acquaintance over several years ago, but he has had no contact with him for several years, Miller said.

When deputies arrived on the scene they located the suspect near the reported incident, according to officials.

“Deputies detained the suspect down the street from where the incident occurred,” Miller said.

Deputies arrested Joshua Bozarth, 33, from Saugus, on felony charges of burglary and criminal threats, Miller said.

Bozarth was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with bail set at $50,000, according to arrest records.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
