Suspect Assaults Man With Gun, Flees On Foot In Valencia

Deputies are still looking for a suspect who struck a man with a gun after breaking into his garage Wednesday morning.

“A suspect armed with a handgun approached an individual,” at approximately 5 a.m. near Del Monte Drive, said Lt. Leo Bauer with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

A Facebook post in the Santa Clarita Community Watchdog Group reportedly by the victim’s wife, gave more details.

“My husband was greeted by a guy with a gun in the garage this morning,” said the post by Barbara Arruda. “(My husband) fought with him (because the) gun jammed.”

During the fight, the victim was struck multiple times by the gun. No shots were fired, Bauer said.  

Sheriff’s Station officials have not released a suspect description because they are still actively investigating leads in the case.
