A “suspicious object” left at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station led to the closure of the station to the public on Monday evening.
Update (9:45 p.m.)
The incident has been cleared and the suspicious object deemed safe, according to law enforcement officials.
“A male purchased an item resembling an anti-tank round from the swap meet. The male came to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station to seek guidance from deputies regarding the item,” said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the SCV Station.
As a precaution, deputies cleared the lobby and contacted arsons and explosives to further investigate, while the item remained in vehicle.
