Deputies arrested a female transient over the weekend after she allegedly attempted to burglarize a Newhall liquor store, officials said.
Around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a liquor store on the 24300 block of Main Street in Newhall for a report of a drunk person causing a disturbance, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“The suspect, a female adult, was allegedly behind the business trying to gain entry through a rear door,” Miller said.
The woman was reportedly yelling threats, which were directed at an employee, according to officials.
“The suspect continued to punch the door until several holes were made,” Miller said.
Ashley Donnelly, 29, was arrested for attempted burglary and criminal threats, both of which are felonies, Miller said.
Donnelly was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s jail with bail set at $20,000, according to arrest records.
