Around 11:30 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to the 24600 block of Pine Street in Newhall regarding a person with a knife, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“It was reported a male Hispanic adult brandished a knife to the victim,” Arriaga said.
Upon arrival, deputies learned during a verbal argument between two individuals, the suspect allegedly brandished a pocket knife and made verbal threats, Arriaga said.
“Deputies contacted a male adult matching the suspect description underneath the Railroad Avenue overpass and detained him,” Arriaga said. “He was positively identified as the suspect by the victim.”
German Olmoscanedo, 44, from Newhall, was arrested on one count of felony criminal threats, Arriaga added.
