Trial Set For Suspected Santa Clarita Thief Of $1.2 Million Who Fled To Georgia

In September, a case was filed against a Santa Clarita Valley woman accused of stealing approximately $1.2 million from a construction management company and fleeing to the state of Georgia, according to law enforcement officials.

After fleeing to Georgia and being extradited, a Santa Clarita woman, Neilla Marie Cenci accused of grand theft approximating $1.2 million is slated to stand trial in December, according to officials.

Cenci has reportedly had a case filed against her by law enforcement regarding the theft of around $1.2 million over several years, according to officials.

Ball Construction Management, Inc. owners Chris and Kristine Ball were reportedly among those from whom Cenci has been charged with stealing money from, according to the owners.

The reported grand theft includes the repeated falsification of checks by Cenci, with each individual check for around $200,000, according to court documents.

In addition to being charged with several counts of grand theft, Cenci is also reportedly accused of multiple counts of forgery and filing false income tax returns from 2014 to 2019, according to court documents.

Cenci is reportedly accused of having fled to Fulton County, Georgia and was extradited shortly thereafter to stand trial in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to officials.

“For a year and a half, this case sat on the desk of a do-nothing Asst. D.A., named Adewale Oduye, who has since quit in a public huff,” Chris Ball said.  “The new prosecutor who picked up the file has since done a good job.  I also appreciate SCV LASD Captain Diez for his help accomplishing the out of state arrest and extradition.”

The County of Los Angeles has charged Cenci with a reported 18 counts in total, according to court documents.

The upcoming trial date for Cenci is slated for Dec. 9, 2021, according to officials.
