Two people were detained at gunpoint Thursday afternoon after two assaults were reported in Canyon Country.
Just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a possible assault with a deadly weapon on the 26800 block of Oak Avenue in Canyon Country, according to Lt. Ethan Marquez with the station.
When deputies arrived on scene, two suspects had reportedly fled in a white Dodge Durango. Shortly after that, another altercation involving a knife was reported near the Starbucks on the 26500 block of Golden Valley Road.
Roughly an hour later, deputies then located a vehicle matching the description of the Durango seen in the first incident near the Canyon Country Library off of Shangri-La Drive and Soledad Canyon Road.

Two individuals were taken into custody at gunpoint without incident, according to Marquez.
“They could be involved in both of those two incidents,” Marquez said. “That’s what we’re investigating right now.”
No injuries were reported in connection with either reported altercation as of Thursday afternoon.
Deputies were still on scene investigating as of 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
