Two female burglary suspects were taken into custody Thursday morning shortly after they allegedly burglarized a Canyon Country storage facility, officials said.
On Thursday around 8 a.m., deputies received reports of a burglary at a storage facility near Via Princessa, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“An observant employee saw suspicious activity and called our Sheriff’s Station,” Miller said.
When deputies were investigating the call, they located a car driving near Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle.
“(Deputies) followed the vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop,” Miller said.
Stolen property was recovered in the suspects’ vehicle, Miller said.
Two women, one from Simi Valley and one from Van Nuys, were taken into custody on burglary charges and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
