Two Probation Suspects Arrested On Weapons, Narcotics Charges In Newhall

Two suspects on probation were arrested Wednesday evening by patrol deputies in Newhall on weapon and narcotics charges, officials said.

On Wednesday around 7:30 p.m., deputies patrolling Newhall made contact with two adults near Lyons Avenue and Avenida Dorena, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The male adult was on probation for robbery and had a concealed knife on his person,” Miller said.

The female adult was on probation for auto theft-related charges and was found to have methamphetamine and heroin on her person, according to Miller.

The male suspect, William Munios, 29, from Valencia was arrested on felony charges of possession of dirk or dagger, and Melissa Rios, 26, from Granada Hills was arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of a switchblade, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, Miller said.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $0, according to arrest records.

  1. 2 Felons re-arrested for more Felonies with $ 0 bail. Wow, great justice reform!?!? Oh, I know, it was LEs fault. Great society we’re living in—-

  2. But that dealer over at Orchard condos keeps getting out, and stealing packages (federal offense) with video proof and can’t be kept in longer than a few hours with a felony offense and multiple charges even on probation.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
