Two Transients Arrested In Canyon Country Crime Suppression Operation

Two local transients were arrested in a crime suppression operation Thursday in Santa Clarita in connection with repeated thefts from a local business.

Around 11 in the morning on Thursday, deputies with the Crime Prevention Unit conducting the crime suppression operation were notified of a man and a woman trespassing at a business on the 20000 block of Golden Triangle Road in Canyon Country, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Claria Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The male was known to often steal merchandise from the business and both had been warned several times not to return,” read a social media post from the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Upon contacting the couple, deputies contacted the couple and found the man to be in possession of counterfeit currency, merchandise identified to be stolen from the business, and tools commonly used for theft, while the woman was identified to have an active warrant, according to Arriaga.

Traci Whipp, 30, and Eric Ramsey, 35, both transients, were arrested for trespassing, among other charges.

Both Ramsey and Whipp were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and subsequently released on citation to appear in court in several months.crime
