Two Women Arrested After Alleged Robbery In Valencia

Two women were taken into custody Tuesday evening after a reported robbery in Valencia in which one of the women was allegedly found with a magnetic tool similar to those used for removing sensors off clothing.

At around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a shoplifting call involving two women at a business on the 26400 block of McBean Parkway in Valencia.

“During investigation, deputies learned the suspects (…) exited the business with several items in hand which they did not pay for,” wrote Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the station, in an email to KHTS Wednesday.

When the two women attempted to leave the location, loss prevention officers at the business attempted to detain the pair.

“One of the suspects pulled away from the victim and reached into her purse, putting fear into the victim, not knowing what the suspect was attempting to retrieve,” Arriaga wrote.

The two left the location without further incident, and were later located and detained near the interaction of Magic Mountain Parkway and McBean Pkwy.

“The females detained were positively identified by the victim during a field show up,” Arriaga wrote. “A search of one of the suspects, resulted in the recovery of a magnetic tool similar for use for removing sensors off clothing.”

The two women, 31-year-old Danielle Rowan of Frazier Park and 28-year-old Amanda Casey of Valencia, were arrested for felony robbery rather than burglary due to the circumstances surrounding their departure from the business.

Additionally, Rowan was arrested on one misdemeanor charge of possession of burglary tools after she was allegedly found with the magnetic tool.

The pair were transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail for booking, where arrest records indicate that both had bail set at $100,000.

“located and detained near the interaction of Magic Mountain Parkway and McBean Pkwy.”
Could you explain the interaction between the two streets?

  2. Unfortunately due to Ca’s lack luster laws nothing will happen to them

  3. Yeah, imagine living in a place where crime didn’t pay and jail wasn’t a small inconvenience of time and opportunity to grow your drug business…….I am thankful SCV Sheriff at least catches them.

  4. Thanks Liberals for Prop. 47 & 57, plus AB 109 and now we have Gas-Con!! Steal up to $950, no problem, it’s a great well paying part time job. May God have mercy on the decent. Unbelievable!!
