At 10:48 a.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of a robbery at the Apple Store in the Westfield Valencia Town Center, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.

“(There were) three suspects that came into the Apple Store while it was open for business,” Miller said.

The suspects stole several Apple Watches and iPhones, at one point using a black semi-automatic handgun, according to Miller.

“An employee was by the door,” Miller said. “There was a little bit of struggle, and that’s when one of the suspects brandished a firearm.”

The three suspects, two described as black male adults and one described as a Hispanic male, immediately fled on foot, where a fourth individual picked them up in a vehicle and fled, Miller said.

The suspects are reportedly driving a gray Honda Civic, and were last seen heading north towards Valencia Boulevard, according to officials.

Deputies are still on scene investigating as of 11:30 a.m.

“They are interviewing witnesses and getting witness reports,” Miller said. “They are also working on getting surveillance footage of the store to pass on to detectives.”

Valencia Apple Store Robbed At Gunpoint

  1. Suspects could have been stopped if one of the customers had their CCW. Our Sheriffs department are out numbered . Hopefully someone will wake up and allow good citizens the right to protect themselves against threats like this.

    • Why would a customer with a CCW risk their life for a trillion dollar company with lots of insurance policies?

      • I have my CCW and how would I know that they were only going to take merchandise and not try to harm anyone in the store or myself. Easy to say what you wouldn’t do since you weren’t in the store and put in that position. With proper training those split second decisions are easier to make when peoples life is on the line. It is a proven fact that towns with CCW and open carry have less crimes.

        • I agree with Max. Theres no reason for anyone to risk having a weapon be fired at any store, especially a store like apple. I can just imagine the pr mess that would create not to mention the risk of innocenct people being harmed.

      • In retrospect it is easy to ask why should someone take defensive action on behalf of a bloody rich company like Apple. It’s not Apple we’re worried about. It’s the defenseless employees and customers who were there. Luckily no one was killed or hurt in this instance. But what’s going to discourage or deter anyone in the future from brandishing a gun and threatening innocent people if no one’s around who will challenge these thugs. They do this because they know they can with impunity

    • So instead of a few watches getting stolen you would want some random citizen with no military or police training to discharge a firearm at an individual with a semi-automatic weapon. All to save watches and protect against a hypothetical situation where they can be a hero and prove that everyone should be allowed to carry weapons? It is backwards thinking like that which will keep us in the dark ages.. Yes you are entitled to your opinion but in no way does more weapons in the hands of common citizens keep us all safe. Foolish people like you with extremely limited knowledge of the repercussions of such lax gun laws are the reason why we need stricter gun laws. I do not want a fool like you carrying trying to “protect me”. Thank you

      • Brandon very bold statement since you do not know my background nor my training. Foolish people like yourself think having a CCW is a license to kill which it is not. In some cases complying with the suspect is the better approach. But when a firearm is brandished and your life is at stake not just watches wouldn’t you want to have the proper training so you don’t become a victim? Tell me how dialing 911 would help? When was there any talk about semi automatic firearm? In fact one of the most reliable concealed hand guns are snub nose revolvers with a 3.5″barrel. CA is one of the most strictest states for firearms and brace yourself, were putting in a Turner Outdoorsman next to Best Buy so you better get used to more of us protecting ourselves. Most of good guys out there who support the 2nd amendment hope we never have to but it is there for our protection. I encourage you to come out to California Tactical off the 126. There you will find we are very well trained not “fools” like you suggested. What is it with you Lefties ? You read one paragraph and you turn into computer tough guys and think you know everything. You think all of us “Gun Guys” are bad people or want to be hero’s. You might be singing a different tune if one of us Good Guys saves your life one day.

      • The person has a CCW- you are trained to fire a gun in order to have this.

  2. When will Apple learn?! How many times do they need to get robbed before someone is killed? They need armed guards at the entrances to all their stores! If I were an employee here I’d refuse to work until they posted ARMED guards! And, yes, as previous poster mentioned shoppers and/or employees with CCW’s needed! Apple is targeted by bad guys with guns because they know Apple is unguarded.

    • Did Nike really care when kids were killing each other over the latest Jordans? Or was it just great marketing to the street culture? All the Apple Store incidents in Valencia have the same demographic as the Nike incidents 30 years ago.

  3. I have to agree with Max..

  4. Seriously, what is this the 5th time this store has been robbed?

  5. Why must you report the races of the robbers? As if we’re going to go out bounty hunting them? Totally unnecessary!

  6. I am so tired why can we protect ourselves I believe CCW’s are important. I do agree they do need armed guards they have them at supermarkets in LA. I don’t care who are what they are they are slime!!! Bags!!!. They’re people in there with little kids and they could’ve hurt someone. California wake up and start looking that less crime happens when you are armed. I agree with Travis.

  7. Have a Beat Cop walk the outside of all the stores, one on each side, one or two on the streets in the back riding the two wheeled standing vehicle. Have a patrol car parked in the front in plain view.
Brandon if you take away all our weapons, only the criminals will have weapons, do you feel safe now.

  8. In the light of being proactive, I think the Apple Store should move inside the mall, with a security guard present at all times. The Apple Store is like a jewelry store…it should be well protected. It’s too easy to rob in its present location.
