At around 5:15 p.m. Monday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station received reports of an individual stealing a car from the Chevrolet dealership on the 23600 block of Valencia Boulevard.

“(The suspect) was just released on a citation for joy riding,” said Deputy Sanchez with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “He went across the street and stole a car.”

Initial reports indicate that the suspect stole a silver 2019 Chevrolet Camaro before fleeing westbound on Magic Mountain Parkway.

Officials were able to track the vehicle to a senior living complex on Flying Tiger Drive near Sierra Highway, where the suspect reportedly got into a physical altercation with a responding deputy.

“He came out and charged at the deputies,” Sanchez said. “Deputies were able to take him back into custody.”

First responders with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were called to the scene at around 6:23 p.m. to treat the suspect for injuries sustained during the reported struggle.

“We went out for an assault at that location,” said Supervisor Pickett with the department. “One patient was transported.”

The suspect is expected to be taken into custody once they are released from the hospital.

  1. Catch and release. At least the criminal did not KILL someone this time. Thank you Newsom

    • And Garshity & Gascon! The Liberals created (Gascon) Prop. 47 & 57 and AB 109 which reduces felonies to misdemeanors & lets chronic criminals out of jail early!! Liberal degeneration from Seattle to San Diego!!

  2. I guess with the recent tightening by the lenders, this Auto Nation dealership could not obtain financing for the perp through any of it’s sub-prime lenders at 30% apr, so the perp got mad and took the vehicle on an “extended” test drive….lol

At least, he picked a “fun” car to sreal, and not something boring such as the Chevrolet Sonic!

    Good job deputies!
