A felony suspect was taken into custody on the 14 Freeway in Newhall Tuesday by officers from the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Police Department, officials said.
Los Angeles Police Department officers initially located the wanted suspect on Glenoaks Boulevard in Sylmar, said Officer Rosario Dervantes of LAPD.
Officers started following the vehicle he was in, and requested assistance from CHP once the suspect entered the freeway, according to officials.
“We were never in pursuit of the vehicle, we just followed him,” said Officer Elizabeth Kravig with the CHP Traffic Management Center.
Officers with the two departments conducted a felony traffic stop on the northbound 14 Freeway just north of Newhall Avenue and took the suspect into custody.
As of the publication of this article, it is unknown what alleged crimes the suspect was wanted for.
