Woman, Accomplice Arrested For Allegedly Robbing Her Attempted Rapist In Newhall

A woman and her male companion were arrested Sunday in Newhall on suspicion of robbing the father of her child, after he had allegedly robbed and attempted to rape her that same day.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Deputies arrested three people Sunday, after an attempted rape victim returned with a friend to take back the money that had been stolen from her during her earlier assault, according to Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson with the SCV Station.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the victim of the initial incident was called by her child’s father, Margarito Ocampo, to meet at his residence on the 24800 block of Walnut Street in Newhall.

“When the female entered the residence, the suspect attempted to forcefully have sexual relations with the victim,” Arriaga said. “While doing so, the suspect forcefully took money from the female.”

The woman attempted to leave the room several times, but was stopped by Ocampo, who then grabbed a machete and stood across the doorway to prevent her from leaving.

“(She) was eventually able to exit the room and get to her vehicle,” Arriaga said.

No injuries were observed on the female, and she declined medical treatment. Deputies arrived at the suspect’s residence and observed injuries on the suspect.

During additional investigation, deputies learned that after the initial incident where he was the perpetrator, Ocampo was approached by the woman and a male companion, Roy Galloway, at his residence.

“When (the woman) arrived, she began physically assaulting Ocampo and grabbed money from his hands.  Suspect Galloway then began forcefully searching Ocampo for money,” Arriaga said.

All suspects were arrested on scene without incident.

Ocampo, 43, a resident of Newhall, was arrested for attempted rape, domestic assault, false imprisonment, and robbery.

Galloway, 43,  of California City, was arrested for robbery.

The female suspect, and victim of the initial incident, was arrested for robbery and domestic assault.

Ed. Note: The female suspect has not been identified by KHTS as the victim of a sexual assault.

Woman, Accomplice Arrested For Allegedly Robbing Her Attempted Rapist In Newhall

  1. Newhall Arts District shows its civic pride!

  2. This seems like irresponsible reporting to me. Why do we say the robbery was “alleged” but report her claims of victimhood as fact? Was there any evidence of attempted rape or any other part of her story? We do know she had no injuries. Sounds like a convenient excuse on her part to explain why she was committing robbery herself. Certainly any reasonable person would have contacted the police as soon as they escaped and let them handle it.

If her story turns out to be bunkum, you’ve really set yourself up for a libel suit, KHTS. Please be more careful.

  3. Margartio Ocampo from the lovely/peaceful area of Walnut/Race/Arch/12-15 Sts. at it again! Will they ever learn?!
