iLEAD facilitators (teachers) hone in on project based learning and social emotional learning. For many of those in public schools, a common question asked is “when are we going to apply this to real life?”
In iLEAD schools, project based learning shines as learners train to work together on projects that benefit the community around them, their school, and society as a whole.
At iLEAD in Agua Dulce, the petting zoo meets the school in a program that saves animals across America from slaughter houses and shows the students what it means to own a pet and properly take care of it.
The students feed and walk around with cows, pigs, chickens and other farm animals in designated areas for their animal friends.

The students love teaching their fellow peers about taking care of the animals and that’s part of the philosophy at SCVi. Bringing the kids together and allowing them to build on their own little community is so important at SCVi.
iLEAD Agua Dulce has the means for their students to explore through learning and playtime alike while encouraging real world life skills that will lead to lifelong leadership and overall success.
iLEAD Agua Dulce has started a school beautification club where students can help keep their campus clean, and keep plastic and trash away from the animals and their enclosed areas. Playtime and learning go hand-in-hand at SCVi.
Facilitators believe that encouraging playtime and allowing the kids to run around and climb on trees makes for better focus on the curriculum afterwards and that’s what SCVi has run on since 2008.
