Sulphur Springs, Hart Districts Set To Host ‘Many Families, One Community’ Family Resource Fair

The Sulphur Springs and William S. Hart Union High School Districts are set to host a fair this weekend to show the community what resources are available to students in their schools.

The “Many Families, One Community” family resource fair is scheduled for Saturday and is set to give students advice on how to make smooth transitions from one school to another, according to Dave Caldwell, a spokesperson for the Hart District.

“This is an opportunity for residents living in the southeast area of the Santa Clarita Valley to see what resources are available to them and their families, plus attend breakout sessions that will show attendees ways to help kids transition from elementary to junior high schools and junior high schools to high schools,” Caldwell said. “The fair is primarily for families that are served by the Sulphur Springs School District and families of students who attend our junior highs and high schools in the eastern part of the SCV. But anyone is welcome who would like to attend.”

During the resource fair, families will also have the opportunity to learn about bullying and how to prevent it, as well as many other topics.

Superintendents, as well as board members from both school districts, are scheduled to be in attendance, according to officials.

The resource fair is also set to include a student art show featuring performances by student choral groups in the Golden Valley Gym.

The Many Families, One Community fair is set to take place on Saturday Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Golden Valley High School.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
