Steve Sturgeon, trustee for the William S. Hart Board of Education since 1999, has announced his filing for reelection to his position in Trustee Area 4 in the Nov. 3, 2020 election.
A longtime advocate for the continuous improvement in the educational systems here in Santa Clarita Sturgeon also has acted as a representative on the California School Board Association, and at the State level as well.
Sturgeon is currently serving the Hart District for his 21st year. He is very proud of what the Teachers, Staff and Administration has accomplished during his tenure to make the Hart District one of the top districts in the entire state and nation, according to a statement
He is very active in the measures the district is taking through the COVID-19 environment to ensure the safety, health and security of students and staff while working to ensure the best educational delivery possible. Their goal as a District is to give students the resources and tools necessary to let them reach their ultimate potentials, according to officials.
Sturgeon and his wife, Julie, have been residents of Canyon Country for 40 years and support numerous local nonprofits in the Santa Clarita Valley.
