WiSH Foundation Awards $2,000 In Prizes To Winners Of Virtual Talent Show

The William S. Hart (WiSH) Education Foundation recently named the winners of the first-ever “SCV Virtual Talent Show,” awarding $2,000 in prizes.

On Monday, officials with the WiSH Foundation named four winners in the first-ever “SCV Virtual Talent Show,” presented by SCVTV and sponsored by Westfield Valencia Town Center, calling the event an “overwhelming success.”

Nearly 60 administrators, teachers and students from across the Santa Clarita Valley submitted videos for the talent show in three categories: Under 18, Over 18 and Group.

The Over 18 category winner was Melissa Brewerm and the Under 18 category winner was Micah Charles. Both are set to receive a $500 Westfield American Express Rewards Card, according to event officials.

Meanwhile, the winners of the Group category were Jaia Bryant and Aviah Priestley, who are set to receive a $1,000 Westfield American Express Rewards Card.

Residents were able to cast their votes for the winning videos by donating to the WiSH Foundation, who in turn are set to use the money to “fund programs and initiatives that go beyond what tax dollars provide and help elevate and prepare our students for life,” according to WiSH officials.

The event was hosted by 2019 SCV Man of the Year and WiSH founding board member Ed Masterson, and featured a special shout-out to the Santa Clarita Valley and the WiSH Foundation from NFL Quarterback Matt Moore, who attended Hart High School.

Due to the “overwhelming success” of the first-ever Virtual Talent Show, WiSH officials confirmed Monday that they had plans to turn the show into an annual event.
