10th Annual Michael Hoefflin Foundation Walk For Kids With Cancer Postponed

The 10th annual Michael Hoefflin Foundation Walk For Kids With Cancer has been postponed, officials said Thursday.

“Our top priority is the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, staff and especially, our families, some of whom may have compromised immune systems”, said Mike Jaffe, interim executive director of the MHF. “I have contacted COC and requested that, once it is safe to do so, we will determine another date to hold our walk”.

The event raised $92,000 in 2019, and this year, officials with the Michael Hoefflin Foundation are hoping to exceed $100,000, according to officials.

“All of us at the MHF thank our sponsors and participants for their support and understanding and
we ask that everyone take all steps necessary to stay safe and healthy,” Jaffe said.

Throughout the year, the Michael Hoefflin Foundation helps families in a variety of ways, including providing gas and grocery assistance, support group meetings and family outings — aid “crucial” to families dealing with the emotional and unexpected financial burden of cancer, according to officials.

“We are doing what we can,” Jaffe added. “Let’s find a cure. We would be delighted to be put out of business if it meant the end of pediatric cancer.”

The new date for the fundraiser has not been set as of Thursday.
