2022 Fourth Of July Events Coming This Year In Santa Clarita

KHTS has put together a list of 2022 Fourth of July events to participate in this year in the Santa Clarita Valley.

On the Fourth of July, there are several different events to participate beginning in the morning and concluding the day by sharing ‘ooh’s and ‘ah’s with family and friends while admiring firework displays.

The Most Important Meal Of The Day

The first event to kick off the 2022 Fourth of July is a pancake breakfast hosted by the Rotary Club of Santa Clarita Valley.

The annual pancake breakfast is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. in the parking lot near Main and 6th Streets in Old Town Newhall.

Then at 7 a.m., The Santa Clarita Runners are expected to host their 38th Annual Independence Day Classic 10K and their 5K at 8 a.m., according to officials.

The run is expected to take place at Newhall Park, with proceeds benefitting cross-country programs at the seven high schools in the Santa Clarita Valley, as well as other local charities, according to officials.

Red White and Blueberry Brunch

For more than 20 years, members of the Zonta Club of Santa Clarita have offered their Red, White and Blueberry Brunch as a fundraiser for the numerous service projects that Zonta does.

The winners of the fundraiser are welcomed at the front of Canyon Theatre Guild, under a canopy and a private space that is turned into a Patriotic Event for 12 guests.

The menu is varied according to the guests but always includes Newhall Juice, a special orange juice, and strawberries, blueberries and cream in Judy’s Jelly Jars.

The concept of this event was formed when the President, Judy Penman purchased Miss Liberty glasses for her Zonta Board and told them we would be marching in the parade.

Many board members said “Let’s do a Brunch as a fundraiser” and the concept was born. This was a very popular item at the Zonta Roast that was held for many years as a major fundraiser.

In the best of times, Don and Cheri Fleming purchased this fundraiser for many years for a large amount of money.

Everyone that comes to this event is surprised at the fun added treasures that they go home with, and the experience of watching the home town parade up close and personal. After a 2 year stop in the parade, Zonta members are thrilled to offer this event again this July 4.

2022 4th of July Parade

4th Of July Parade Returns After Two Year Hiatus

The Fourth of July Parade has returned following a two-year hiatus beginning at 9 a.m.

Residents are invited to Old Town Newhall to watch the parade which begins at the roundabout in front of William S. Hart Park.

The parade is set to take itself along Main Street, turning left on Lyons Avenue before finishing at Orchard Village Road and Dalbey Drive, according to officials.

KHTS Radio will also be providing commentary on 98.1 FM and AM 1220 during the parade.

End The Night With A Bang!

The day is then scheduled to end with the annual Spirit of America Fireworks Spectacular, which headlines Fourth of July celebrations in the City of Santa Clarita.

The firework show is expected to begin around 9:20 p.m. lighting up the skies of Santa Clarita.

The fireworks show is once again scheduled to be held at the Westfield Valencia Town Center, with the launch site near the corner of Magic Mountain Parkway and Citrus Street.

Whether you are watching the fireworks show from your car or home, make sure your radio is tuned to KHTS, Your Hometown Station, on 98.1 FM and am 1220.

This will allow you to experience the fireworks in all their glory, complete with music synchronized to the overhead display.

Residents should be aware that Citrus Street is scheduled to be closed beginning at 3 a.m. on the morning of July 4. In addition, a portion of the Westfield Valencia Town Center parking lot is scheduled to be blocked off to the public for the firework fall zone.

All other roads in the area are expected to remain open to vehicle traffic and existing “no parking” zones are set to remain in effect and be enforced by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Six Flags is also expected to host a firework show of their own on the Fourth of July.

Residents are being reminded that all fireworks — even those marked “safe and sane” — are illegal to possess in Santa Clarita. Fireworks are a violation of the Santa Clarita Municipal Code, Health and Safety Code and Los Angeles County Fire Code.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
