The 2022 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
Due to L.A. County Department of Public Health restrictions and the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the City of Santa Clarita regretfully is announcing the cancellation of the 2022 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival. The current county public health mandates regarding vaccination requirements for staff, volunteers, performers and vendors – make it unfeasible to hold the event this year.
However, the City will still host a western-themed SENSES Block Party, an induction of honorees into the Walk of Western Stars and a family-friendly event with activities, food and performances from some of the bands who have played at the Cowboy Festival in the past. Details are still in the works, so please stay tuned for more information.
Traditionally held in April at William S. Hart Park in Newhall, the Cowboy Festival is a large-scale community event that welcomes thousands of residents and visitors each year to celebrate Santa Clarita’s rich Western heritage.
For more information about the cancellation of the 2022 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, please contact the City of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Events division at (661) 250-3787 aeo@santa-clarita.com.

Covid is here for the long run, probably forever just like the flu & colds. Cancelling events is ridiculous, democrats love to cancel everything fun or important.
Don’t blame it on Democrats. That’s not reasonable.
Consider blaming it on the anti-vaxers..
Ridiculous to cancel. They should go else were and still do it
Where do you suggest?
Bull-sheet! This is terrible news. Where are people from the suburbs supposed to go for Bovine Bingo, Cow Tipping, and Cow Pie Eating contests!
Yes, heaven forbid we all get the sniffles.
Have you not been hearing of the (mostly) unvaccinated still dying of Covid? This is not the sniffles for everyone.
FU is unvaccinated, and many wish he would sniffle and die very soon.
Ah, that’s not nice! Coming from someone who routinely lives up to their screen name, I’m not too offended though.
And yes! Unvaxxed! And survived the China cold with zero problems. Your weak blood isn’t worthy I’m afraid.
Oh no, people having fun? We just can’t have that. Cancel everything fun. Morons!
Oh no! What will all the wannabe Texans do now?!
Rosie,
Having fun doesn’t necessarily mean doing whatever the heck you want. Try to think of the greater good.
